Kanawha County Schools began offering a virtual program in the Spring of 2018. Students in grades 6 through 12 can participate in the program. Also, we will begin a pilot program for students in grades 3 through 5 in the Fall of 2019.
Students can participate in a full-time or part-time virtual school program where we customize the courses to meet the students’ needs. Students can also take a course or more physically at the school in conjunction with the virtual program, or choose to have all of their classes virtual. Students can participate in sports as well as school functions and clubs.
This program is free to students who are currently homeschooled, in a private school, or a public school in Kanawha County. KCS will provide an iPad, the courses, and the support for your child to succeed. The program does not have any mandatory log-in time requirement. Every student has the flexibility to work when they want to, how they want to, and where they want to.
